This album comes at an important time in my life, both looking back over the last 10 years, and forward to the next 10 and beyond. In full awareness of the complete messiness of my 20s, my dreadful and extended experience with illness and American psychiatric hospitals, the many highs, lows, and the many more pharmaceutically-induced mids, the many disappointments, frustrations, and also the occasional triumph. I don't think of the album as entirely looking backwards, though. I only hope to reach into the mud of all of this and pull out something beautiful and maybe worthwhile. This is a record of how I'm feeling now in the year 2022.
